Green Knights Control Sabres in Road Win

FOND DU LAC – St. Norbert College turned in a balanced performance to claim its sixth conference win of the season, topping Marian University 71-45 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup at Sadoff Gymnasium.

The Green Knights (6-5, 4-0 NACC) got off to a solid start, answering an early Marian 3-pointer with three straight scores. Both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter, with Marian cutting the lead to two late, but Charley Mullen's 3-pointer right before the buzzer gave St. Norbert a 21-16 advantage after one. Two quick layups from Taylor Thiry and Olivia Conway (pictured) pushed the Green Knights' lead to nine to open the second period. St. Norbert maintained control the rest of the half, heading into the break with a 36-26 lead.

Two layups from Marnie Kahl and Conway's fourth 3-pointer of the night extended the lead to 16 midway through the third quarter. The Sabres connected on a pair of threes in an attempt to close the gap, but three straight baskets from Avery Bierowski helped the Green Knights close out the quarter with a 17-point lead. St. Norbert pulled away early in the fourth quarter with baskets from several scorers, while the Green Knights held Marian to just nine points to secure the 71-45 win.
