Green Knights Surge Past Scarlet Hawks

DE PERE – St. Norbert College earned its fifth straight conference win with a 76-50 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.

The Green Knights (7-5, 5-0 NACC) set the tone early, scoring the first 12 points of the game behind a pair of baskets each from Oakley Witteck and Taylor Thiry. Illinois Tech responded with six straight scoring possessions to get within one, but back-to-back layups from Avery Bierowski sent St. Norbert into the second quarter with a seven-point lead. The Green Knights built on their momentum early in the second, forcing turnovers and converting in transition to extend the lead to 16 midway through the period. The Scarlet Hawks attempted to chip away, but the Green Knights would take a 13-point advantage heading into the break.

After Tech opened the second half scoring, St. Norbert responded with a decisive 14-0 run, stretching the lead to 25. Marnie Kahl (pictured) then added three consecutive baskets, helping the Green Knights maintain their cushion through the third. St. Norbert stayed consistent in the fourth, holding the lead in the mid 20s to finish with a dominant 76-50 win.
