DE PERE - St. Norbert College had a hot shooting night for most of its 100-65 win over Edgewood University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights (15-4, 12-0 NACC), who won their eighth-straight game, shot 66.7 percent (20-for-30) in the first half and was a white-hot 16-for-26 (61.5 percent) from beyond the three-point arc for the game in fashioning a season-high point total. The 16 three-point field goals is tied for the third-most in a game in St. Norbert annals.
St. Norbert and Edgewood traded baskets in the early going, with the Eagles holding an 8-5 lead with almost two minutes elapsed. The Green Knights then went on a 14-0 run to take control, capped by 3-pointers from
Will Stuckey and
Cam Lathos for a 19-8 lead just over six minutes into the game. St. Norbert led 23-14 before going on a 12-1 run for a 35-15 lead that saw a pair of 3-pointers from
Cole Uhlenbrauck and a triple from
Ryan Cox (pictured). St. Norbert led by as many as 23 points late in the first half before settling on a 56-35 lead at the break.
The Green Knights led 58-38 with a minute gone by in the second half before delivering the knockout blow with a 16-0 run over a 4:05 stretch, with 11 points coming from the hand of Stuckey. St. Norbert's biggest lead was 39 points at 86-47 with 11:14 remaining.
St. Norbert finished shooting 57.1 percent (36-for-63) from the floor and held a commanding 47-24 rebounding advantage. Stuckey finished with 21 points, while Cox and Uhlenbrauck had 12 points apiece. Lathos and
Mason Freiburger had 10 points apiece, while
Connor Pytleski yanked down a career-high 12 rebounds along with six points and five assists.
Edgewood shot 35.7 eprcent (20-for-56) from the floor and was 12-for-36 (33.3 percent) from beyond the three-point arc. Trent Tousana led the Eagles with 13 points.
