St. Norbert Clamps Down Concordia Chicago

DE PERE - St. Norbert College dominated Concordia University Chicago for its seventh straight win in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center. 

The Green Knights (11-5, 9-0 NACC) were set up for a win thanks to 24 points from Taylor Thiry in the first half, going on to hold a massive lead for most of the second half. 

The first quarter was a tug-of-war for most of the first quarter, with the only separation coming from back-to-back 3-pointers from Reese Sellers and Marnie Kahl to give the Green Knights a 23-17 lead with 1:14 left in the first quarter. St. Norbert started the second quarter on a 9-0 run, and allowed just three field goals in the period to hold a 47-28 at the half. 

A 3-pointer from Olivia Conway made it 54-31 in the third quarter as St. Norbert continued to expand the lead, getting to as many as a 31-point lead by the end of the third. The majority of the Green Knights who entered the game showed up on the scoresheet, with 14 St. Norbert players recording at least one point in the course of the game. 

St. Norbert shot 56.9 percent from the floor (37-for-65). Thiry had 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, with all her points coming in the first half. Rose Hahn (pictured) had a double-double outing with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Marnie Kahl had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sellers had 11 points off the bench while Oakley Witteck had eight points. 

Thiry moved to seventh all-time on the St. Norbert scoring list, surpassing Joan Watzka '89 with 1,207 career points. 

The Cougars shot 28.8 percent from the floor. Ai Yonemura paced Concordia Chicago with 24 points.
