Green Knights Roll at Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College pushed past Rockford University in dominant fashion, crushing the Regents 70-28 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at the Seaver Center.

The Green Knights (10-5, 8-0 NACC) won their sixth straight game and allowed the fewest points in a conference game since joining the NACC, holding the Regents to only 11 field goals.

The Regents led 5-2 early before a Reese Sellers layup gave the Green Knights the lead for the remainder of the game following a make with 5:34 left in the first quarter. A basket from Olivia Conway made it 13-7 in favor of the Green Knights at the end of the first quarter.

The Green Knights conceded just three points in the second quarter, as the whole cast for St. Norbert began to take part in the scoring. Taylor Thiry had two baskets in the period, while Oakley Witteck, Marnie Kahl and Avery Bierowski took advantage at the free-throw line to make it 32-9 at the half, with St. Norbert going on a 17-0 to close out the final nine minutes of the second quarter.

The scoring drought continued for Rockford in the second half after layups from Conway and Rose Hahn made it 36-9 early in the third period. A 3-pointer from a returning Kalina Winslow (pictured) made it a 50-19 game at the end of the third period.

By the end of the fourth quarter, nearly every player in the Green Knight lineup had recorded a point, with 14 finding their way onto the scoresheet.

St. Norbert shot 44.8 percent from the floor (26-for-58). Witteck led with 11 points and four steals while Conway and Winslow had eight points each. Thiry had seven points.

Rockford shot 36.7 percent from the floor (11-for-30). Katie Parades led the Regents with 12 points and five rebounds.
