DE PERE - St. Norbert College got the benefit of a late goal to pick up a hard-fought 2-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin to salvage a split of a home-and-home Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series at Cornerstone Community Center.
Jack Christen (pictured, center) scored with 1:24 remaining to break a 1-1 stalemate.
Logan Dombrowsky saucered a pace through the slot and hit a crashing Christen, who finished with the eventual game-winning goal. Concordia had an extra attacker for the game's final 56 seconds but never seriously threatened with an equalizer.
St. Norbert scored the game's first goal when Dombrowsky scored bar down at the 11:33 mark of the first period. That goal held up until Concordia tied things up on Matt Green's goal at 8:30 of the third period.
Dombrowsky finished with the Green Knights' lone multi-point game with one goal and one assist for two points.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia 32-24, including 25-12 over the last two periods.
Vaughn Makar picked up the win in net for the Green Knights, making 23 saves. Cameron Hrdlicka made 30 stops for the Falcons.
St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-3.
