St. Norbert Opens Season Against Wabash

DE PERE - St. Norbert College got its 2025 football season underway with a 55-21 loss to Wabash College in a non-conference game at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights fell behind early when Xavier Tyler's 3-yard touchdown run just 3:46 into the game put Wabash ahead 7-0. St. Norbert was able to tie the game after recovering a muffed punt at the Little Giants' 14-yard line. Michael Meneguzzo's 3-yard pass to Connor Kelly knotted things up at 7-7 with 3:24 left in the first quarter. Wabash took a 14-7 lead after the first quarter when a Brand Campbell pass to tight end Carson Chadd ruptured into a 63-yard touchdown with 1:22 left in the period.

St. Norbert took advantage of another Wabash turnover in its own end, setting up a 9-yard touchdown pass from Meneguzzo to Bailey Turenne to tie the game 14-14 with 12:04 left in the second quarter. The Little Giants promptly answered with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Campbell to Luke Adams with 10:14 left. Wabash broke things open when a St. Norbert punt was blocked and returned five yards for a touchdown by Gage Gulley with 4:38 left. Wabash pushed ahead 35-14 at halftime when Campbell hit Chadd for a 7-yard touchdown with 36 seconds left before intermission.

Wabash picked up 10 points in the third quarter for a 45-14 lead and then scored on the second play of the fourth quarter for a 52-14 advantage. The Green Knights cut it to 52-21 when Tanner Hora hit Hunter Thiel for a 10-yard touchdown pass with 9:37 left. Wabash added a late field goal to account for the final scoring.

Wabash outgained St. Norbert 537-220 in total offense. Hora completed 8 of 12 passes for 84 yards and one touchdown with one interception, while Meneguzzo completed 9 of 17 passes for 64 yards and two scores. Joey Weber caught five passes for 31 yards, while Kelly, Turenne and Thiel all had three receptions apiece. Will Darden led St. Norbert on the ground with 27 rushing yards on 10 attempts.

Campbell led Wabash, completing 15 of 20 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns.
