
DE PERE – St. Norbert College track and field qualified four athletes to competition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship.
The Green Knights will be represented on the men's side by senior
Aiden Anderson, junior
Ezra Schermacher and sophomore
Jacob Klitzke. Sophomore
Eden Maranell will compete in the women's championship. The meet will be held Friday and Saturday, March 14-15 at Golisano Training Center in Rochester, N.Y.
Anderson, a Germantown native, will compete in the pole vault in his first NCAA championship appearance. Anderson is the No. 3 seeding after qualifying with a season-best mark of 16 feet 7 1/2 inches at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference championship. The pole vault will be contested at 3:30 p.m. EDT Friday.
Schermacher will compete in the seven-event heptathlon, qualifying in the event for the third consecutive year. Schermacher, a Plymouth native, earned first-team All-America honors in 2024 with a sixth-place finish. Schermacher is the No. 6 seeding after a season-high score of 5,045 points. The heptathlon will begin competition at 10 a.m. EDT both Friday and Saturday.
Klitzke, a Shiocton native, will compete in the shot put in his first NCAA championship appearance. Klitzke is the No. 16 seeding after a season-best mark of 54-8 3/4. The shot put will be contested at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday.
Maranell, a Howards Grove native, is competing in the triple jump in her second NCAA indoor championship meet. Maranell, who finished 12th in the event at the 2024 championship, is the No. 15 seeding after a season-high jump of 39-1. The triple jump will be conducted at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday.
NCAA Notes:
* - Top-eight finishes at the national meet score team points and are also awarded first-team All-America status. Athletes finishing between ninth and 16th are second-team All-Americans.
* - 2025 marks the first time the St. Norbert men have sent three individuals to a single indoor championship.
* - Anderson is the first St. Norbert pole vaulter to compete at the NCAA indoor championship. Jaxsen Schermacher qualified in 2020 but the championship was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ezra Schermacher is the first St. Norbert male to qualify for the NCAA indoor championship three times in an individual event. Ben Dreyer (400, 2002 and 2003),
Colin McKean (800, 2004 and 2005) and Dann Schneider (400, 2009 and 2010) all qualified twice at indoors in individual events.
* - Klitzke is the first St. Norbert thrower to reach an NCAA indoor national meet. He is only the second male St. Norbert thrower ever to reach an NCAA Championship, with Daniel Schumacher advancing in the discus at 1997 and 1998 outdoors.
* - Maranell joins Audrey Makope (60, 2019 and 2020) and Laura Salm (high jump, 1990 and 1991) as the only three St. Norbert women to qualify for NCAA indoor nationals as a freshman and sophomore.
