ALAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - St. Norbert College concluded its annual trip to Florida with two duals, getting edged by College of Saint Benedict 4-3 and sweeping Crown College at Sanlando Park.
Against Saint Benedict, the Green Knights won one doubles contest and three singles matches. Allison Unverzagt and Grace Peters won 8-7 at No. 1 doubles over Sophia Jonas and Ella Marohl.
In singles competition, Unverzagt won at No. 2 over Marohl 6-4, 6-4, while Anna Vechart won a three-set tiebreaker against Ryanna Steinhaus 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5). Collen Callaghan won in the same manner by defeating Kate Perbix at No. 6 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).
The Bennies won the three other singles contests and two of the three doubles to take the small 4-3 victory.
The Green Knights then swept Crown for the final non-conference dual of the spring season.
Unverzgat and Peters won at No. 1 doubles over Amy Eckstorm and Xeng Her 6-2, while Megan Bongle and Callaghan won at No. 2 over Annie Doyle and Amanda Hesler 7-5. Alyssa Tegen and Irene Multhauf (pictured) won at No. 3 with a 6-3 victory over Marissa Otremba and Elyse Steffen.
In singles action, Jordan Domnick won at No. 1 over Eckstorm 6-1, 6-0, while Peters defeated Her at No. 2 6-1, 6-1. Multhauf won at No. 3 over Doyle 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
Tegen defeated Hesler 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 while Katelyn Pawlak defeated Otremba 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5. Bri Paige completed the sweep at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Steffen.
