DE PERE – St. Norbert College had no trouble picking up a sixth straight win against Edgewood College, holding the Eagles to a lowly shooting percentage in a 66-51 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.
The Green Knights (16-6, 12-3 NACC) held Edgewood to just four field goals in the first half, taking a 16-point lead into halftime before holding a firm advantage in the second half.
After the Eagles tied the game at 8 with 12:51 remaining in the first half, the Green Knights went on a 13-0 run thanks to 3-point shooting from Cole Uhlenbrauck (pictured), Connor Pytleski and Ryan Cox. Another three from Uhlenbrauck with 1:26 remaining in the first half gave St. Norbert a 28-12 lead it would take to halftime.
In the last 16 minutes of the first half, St. Norbert held the Eagles to just one field goal makes, holding the visitors to just a 13.33 shooting percentage in the first half.
The Green Knights showed no signs of slowing down in the second half, as they nearly took a 20-point advantage multiple times.
In total, St. Norbert made 10 3-pointers, going 37 percent from beyond the arc. Uhlenbrauck continued with the hot hand with four makes on six attempts, while five others had at least one.
The Green Knights shot 40.7 percent from the floor (22-for-54). Uhelenbrauck led the Green Knights with 16 points off the bench while Jamison Nickolai finished with a double-double performance, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 boards.
St. Norbert outrebounded Edgewood 39-33.
The Eagles shot 33.3 percent from the floor (19-for-57). Drew Houtakker led the team with 19 points.
