LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College senior Liam Fraser (pictured) tied the NCAA Division III record for game-winning goals in a single season in the Green Knights' 3-2 win over Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
Fraser, who now has nine-game winning goals this season, scored his 16th goal of the year just 37 seconds into the third period to give the Green Knights the win.
The Green Knights (17-5, 12-3 NCHA) won their third straight game on the road after falling behind twice.
The Foresters took the lead off a power play goal just 1:50 into the first period before Logan Dombrowsky scored an equalizer just over a minute and a half later at 3:16 with assists coming from Fraser and Adam Szubert.
The Foresters took the lead back at 6:12 in the second period from a Justin Ross goal. St. Norbert again had a response to the setback, with Braden Lindstrom connecting with Byron Hartley and T.J. Koufis to tie the game at 2-2 at 12:00 in the second period.
Fraser's goal proved to be the difference, as his goal in the first minute of the third period gave the Green Knights their first lead of the night.
St. Norbert outshot the Foresters 36-21. Hunter Garvey made 19 saves for St. Norbert, while Bobby McCloskey made 33 saves for Lake Forest.
St. Norbert went 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Foresters went 1-for-5.
