RIVER FOREST, Ill. – St. Norbert College faced little resistance in a 88-55 victory over Concordia University Chicago in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Geiseman Gymnasium, winning a third straight game and keeping its eyes on the NACC title.
The Green Knights (18-4, 13-1 NACC) scored 20 or more points in each quarter and shot over 60 percent from the floor.
After a tight start to the first quarter, the Green Knights went on a 10-1 run in the final five minutes of the quarter to take a 21-12 lead. Avery Bierowski (pictured) led St. Norbert into the second quarter, scoring the first six points of the period to give St. Norbert a 27-14 lead with 8:25 remaining. Bierowski, who finished the game with 14 points, scored 10 of them in the second quarter. Taylor Thiry was on fire throughout the contest, going perfect from the floor (7-for-7) and free-throw line (3-for-3).
The Green Knights possessed a 41-25 halftime lead and got ahead by a game-high 36 points by the final quarter.
St. Norbert shot 61 percent from the floor (36-for-59). Thiry led the Green Knights with 17 points. Bierowski had 14 off the bench, while Casey Jepson had 10 points. In total, 12 Green Knights found their way onto the scoreboard in the win.
Concordia Chicago shot 33.3 percent from the floor (15-for-45). Sydney Nimsakont led the Courgars with 23 points.
