DE PERE – St. Norbert College secured a weekend sweep over UW-Superior in the second game of a non-conference series at Resch Olympic Pavilion, scoring the lone goal of the game in overtime after 60 scoreless minutes in regulation.
The Green Knights (8-2) finally scored at 1:42 in overtime from Tristan Wicklund (pictured), finally beating Superior keeper Jayda Moyer after 38 shots on goal were saved. Sydney Zurawik and Grace Wittkopf added assists on the goal.
St. Norbert outshot the Yellowjackets 39-23. Tanith Plachetka made 23 stops to record a second shutout this season.
The Green Knights went 0-for-3 on the power play. UW-Superior was 0-for-2.
St. Norbert will wrap up the first half of the season with two games at home against Trine University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series next weekend.
