DE PERE – St. Norbert College fell 2-1 to Marian University in overtime in a Northern Collegiate Hockey League game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.  

The Green Knights (4-2, 3-1 NCHA), ranked No. 6 in the USCHO.com Division III poll, struggled to find the net early for the second straight game against the Sabres, not being able to connect for a goal until the third period with just a few minutes remaining in regulation.  

After conceding a power-play goal at 9:22 in the second period, the Green Knights scored with under three minutes remaining in the third period, when Maddie Madden scored following immense pressure on the Marian goal. Ali Sanders (pictured) and Grace Wittkopf provided the assists to send the game into overtime. 

It didn't take long for the extra period to come to an end, as the Sabres scored on their first attempt just 30 seconds in.  

St. Norbert outshot Marian 38-23. Tanith Plachetka made 21 saves for the Green Knights, while Jillian Traver made 37 stops for Marian.  

The Green Knights were 0-for-4 on the power play. Marian went 1-for-3.
