FOND DU LAC - St. Norbert College picked up its second sweep in as many weeks after finishing a pair of wins in a home-and-home series with Marian University in a 6-2 win in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association action at Blue Line Family Ice Center.
The Green Knights (6-1, 4-0 NCHA), ranked No. 4 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, head to No. 3-ranked Aurora University next weekend in a key early-season NCHA series.
St. Norbert took control with a pair of goals 2:10 apart in the second half of the first period.
Logan Dombrowsky (pictured) got the Green Knights on the board with his fourth goal of the season, coming at 11:31.
Braydon Beahm then scored at 13:41 for a 2-0 edge. The goal was Beahm's seventh of the year, having scored one goal in each of his first seven college games.
The Green Knights scored a critical goal for a 3-0 lead at 15:15 of the second period when
Braden Lindstrom scored his first goal of the season. Marian cashed in a power-play goal from Nolan Flint at 18:56 to cut the St. Norbert lead to 3-1 heading into second intermission.
St. Norbert regained its three-goal lead early in the third period on
T.J. Koufis' third goal of the season, scoring at 1:50.
Blake Ulve scored his second goal of the season with a marker at 8:07 for a 5-1 lead. Marian got a power-play goal from Eemil Rautio at 11:43.
Ethan Byrne closed out the scoring by potting his third goal of the season with an empty-net marker at 18:20.
Dombrowsky, Beahm, Lindstrom and Ulve all scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Jack Christen and
Ryan Gingher each had two assists for two points. Christen finished the game at +4, while
Mark Snarr and
Bryan Gilman were both +3.
St. Norbert outshot Marian 38-19.
Hunter Garvey made 17 saves for the Green Knights, while Andreai Proctor-Ramirez made 32 stops for the Sabres.
The Green Knights were 0-for-3 on the power play, while Marin was 2-for-6.
