WINONA, Minn. - St. Norbert College scored a late goal and won the first of two exhibition games this weekend with a 2-1 win over St. Mary's University at St. Mary's Ice Arena.
Anika Fortin scored an unassisted goal at 14:22 of the third period to snap a 1-1 tie.
St. Mary's scored on the game's opening shift on a goal by Keeley Callander. The Green Knights tied the game at 18:24 of the first period on an
Ava Anick goal, assisted by
Maddie Madden.
The Cardinals outshot the Green Knights 31-21, but the visitor pulled out the win with 10 saves from starting goaltender
Keira Markell and 20 stops in 29:40 of relief from
Tanith Plachetka.
St. Norbert was 0-for-2 on the power play, while St. Mary's was 0-for-4.
