MEQUON – St. Norbert College fell just short in a five-goal thriller with Concordia University Wisconsin, getting trimmed 3-2 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Fitting Field.
The Green Knights (3-12-1, 3-5-1 NACC) responded to an early deficit after the Falcons took the lead at 16:44, with Colleen Callaghan (pictured) equalizing the contest just under 30 seconds later for her first goal of the season to make it 1-1 at 17:07.
Concordia Wisconsin retook the lead at 33:59 to make it 2-1 going into the half and added a third goal just after the break to make it 3-1 at 47:06. Meredith Posanski pulled a late goal back for the Green Knights at 89:32, proving just to be a consolation in the final seconds.
St. Norbert was outshot 23-5 and outgained 5-1 in corner kicks. Taylor Wilson made 11 saves for the Green Knights.
Callaghan led St. Norbert with two shots, while Posanski, Lexi Fredenhagen and Addie Schneider had one.
Laine Czerkies scored two of Concordia Wisconsin's goals, both coming in the first half.
