St. Norbert Takes Down Wisconsin Lutheran

MILWAUKEE – St. Norbert College had a red-hot start against Wisconsin Lutheran College, with the Green Knights making the most of their opportunities in a 75-61 win over the Warriors in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Time of Grace Center.  

The Green Knights (8-3, 3-0 NACC) held a 13-point advantage going into the half, going 7-of-9 from three in a game where St. Norbert never trailed.  

St. Norbert started the game on a 13-2 run, with Macey Mercer, Rose Hahn and Marnie Kahl all converting from three. Hahn made two threes in the opening period, as the Green Knights would go on to extend their lead to 11. The Green Knights would then hold the Warriors to 26.7 percent from the floor in the second quarter, allowing just four field goals in the quarter. Adding several more threes, St. Norbert would lead by as many as 17 before taking a 37-24 advantage into the half.  

The Green Knights had a slow start to the third quarter, being held to just three points by Emma Morrissey in the first four minutes of the period. The Warriors would start to chip into the deficit, as they would get within four with the Green Knights still leading 51-47.  

St. Norbert would regain a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter, with Kalina Winslow and Casey Jepson regaining some momentum. The lead would grow to 66-52 with five minutes remaining as St. Norbert would see out the rest of the game.  

St. Norbert shot 58.5 percent (24-for-41) from the floor and went 9-of-14 from three (64.3 percent). Jepson led the Green Knights with 13 points, while Taylor Thiry (pictured), Mercer and Hahn all had 10 points. The Green Knights outrebounded the Warriors 37-26.  

Wisconsin Lutheran shot 31.6 percent (18-of-57) from the floor. Margie Stevens led the Warriors with 18 points.
