STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College faced a two-goal deficit for the third consecutive game and couldn't stem the tide as the Green Knights fell 4-1 to UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at K.B. Willett Arena.
The Green Knights (12-3) surrendered two goals 33 seconds apart in the first period. Dawson Sciarrino and Fletcher Anderson scored for the Pointers at 13:15 and 13:48, respectively. Those goals held up for a 2-0 Stevens Point lead at first intermission.
Stevens Point pushed ahead 3-0 on a Nico Chmelevski score at 10:18 of the second period. The Green Knights would score on an unassisted power-play goal by
Jack Christen at 14:54, but the Pointers immediately responded with a goal by Peyton Hart at 15:57.
St. Norbert outshot Stevens Point 14-7 in the third period but couldn't cut into the deficit and suffered its third-straight loss.
The Green Knights outshot the Pointers 35-27.
Hunter Garvey made 23 saves for St. Norbert, while Alex Proctor turned away 34 shots for Stevens Point.
St. Norbert was 1-for-5 on the power play, while Stevens Point was 0-for-2.
