DE PERE - The St. Norbert College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame has grown by 10 individuals with the selection of its Class of 2025.
Inductees include Brandon Gries (men's basketball and golf), Sara (Gross) Janssen (women's soccer), David Jacobson (men's hockey), Cody Keefer (men's hockey), Zoe Kurth (women's soccer and hockey), Joe Perry (men's hockey), Katie (Vanden Avond) Guns (women's soccer), Tom Winske (baseball coach) and David Wipperfurth (men's basketball). Todd Danen is being inducted in the Allegiance Award category.
Gries, a 2014 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's basketball and golf from 2011 to 2014. He was a second-team All-America selection in basketball and played in the NABC Division III All-Star Game in 2014. He was also a three-time first team All-Midwest Conference selection and was the circuit's Player of the Year in 2014 while playing on three conference champion and NCAA Division III Tournament teams. Gries was a two-time All-MWC choice in golf as the Green Knights won their first MWC championship in 2013.
Janssen, a 2005 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in women's soccer from 2001 to 2004. The Midwest Conference Player of the Year in 2003, she was a four-time first-team All-Midwest Conference selection. She is second in St. Norbert history in career points with 164 and career goals with 68. Her career points and goals totals were Midwest Conference records upon graduation.
Jacobson, a 2015 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's hockey from 2012 to 2015. He received the Sid Watson Award in 2014, awarded to the best player in NCAA Division III hockey. A goaltender, Jacobson was a first-team All-America selection in 2013 and 2014 and a second-team All-America choice in 2012. He was selected Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year in 2014 and was a four-time first-team All-NCHA honoree. The Green Knights won NCAA Division III national championship in 2012 and 2014.
Keefer, a 2013 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's hockey from 2010 to 2013. Playing on NCAA Division III national championship teams in 2011 and 2012, he was a second-team All-America selection in 2013. Keefer was a first-team All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association selection in 2013. His best performances came in the biggest games, scoring a hat trick in the 2012 national championship game and led the NCAA Division III Tournament in scoring in 2011 and 2012.
Kurth, a 2014 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in women's soccer from 2010 to 2013 and in women's hockey from 2011 to 2014. A third-team All-America selection in soccer in 2013, she was the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and 2013 and was also a three-time first-team All-MWC choice. Kurth was a first-team All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association selection in 2014. She is a member of the only NCAA Division III Tournament teams in women's hockey and women's soccer, both in 2013.
Perry, a 2014 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's hockey from 2011 to 2014. He was a first-team All-America selection in 2014 and was also a first-team All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association honoree the same year. The Green Knights won NCAA Division III national championships in 2011, 2012 and 2014, with Perry being named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player in 2014. He went on to play professionally for four seasons, advancing as high as the AHL.
Guns, a 2015 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in women's soccer from 2011 to 2013 and again in 2015 after missing 2014 to injury. She is the NCAA Division III career leader in goals scored with 130 and has 281 career points in 78 matches. Guns was a second-team All-America choice by D3soccer.com in 2013 and the NSCAA in 2015. She was a two-time first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree, a three-time Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year pick and a four-time first-team All-MWC honoree. Guns is a member of the only women's soccer team to play in the NCAA Division III Tournament, coming in 2013. She is the only female athlete to have her jersey number retired by the college.
Winske was the St. Norbert baseball coach from 1999 to 2018, compiling a record of 444-287-1. His 444 wins were the most in Midwest Conference history at the conclusion of his tenure. The Green Knights won Midwest Conference championships in 2003, 2012, 2014 and 2017 and played in the NCAA Division III Tournament in each of those seasons in addition to gaining an at-large berth in 2009. He was named Midwest Conference North Division Coach of the Year nine times.
Wipperfurth, a 2011 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's basketball from 2008 to 2011. A two-time first-team All-Midwest Conference selection, he was a second-team all-region selection by the NABC and third-team all-region by D3hoops.com in 2011. He is currently 18th on St. Norbert's career scoring list with 1,146 points. Wipperfurth led the Green Knights to MWC titles and NCAA Division III Tournament berths in 2010 and 2011.
Danen is the sixth Allegiance Award recipient to be inducted. Growing up virtually on the St. Norbert campus on Stewart Street where Mulva Pool is currently located, Danen's connections to St. Norbert and its athletics programs run deep. Following a three-year basketball career at St. Norbert, he returned to the college in 2008 as its Director of Alumni and Parent Relations for 15 years. Danen's involvement with athletics includes alumni engagement, fundraising and support, mentoring student-athletes and promoting St. Norbert values of community, faith, service and excellence.
The Class of 2025 brings the total enshrined in the St. Norbert Athletics Hall of Fame at 174 persons. The Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held during Homecoming weekend in Michels Commons on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Banquet tickets are available at:
