MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College finished off a sweep of Milwaukee School of Engineering, finishing the back end of a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association home-and-home series at Kern Center.
The Green Knights (16-3, 12-0 NCHA) remained unbeaten in league play entering next weekend's crucial home series with Adrian College, which is 11-0-1 in NCHA action.
St. Norbert went most of the opening period without scoring until
Claire Healy scored her third goal of the year when she potted a marker at 19:52 for a 1-0 lead.
The Green Knights doubled their lead when
Sydney Zurawik converted a power-play goal at 7:27 of the second period for her sixth score of the season. St. Norbert wasted little time adding to their lead, with
Tristan Wicklund (pictured) scoring 13 seconds later for a 3-0 edge. Wicklund would score again, this time at 14:55 of the second period, for her sixth goal of the season and a 4-0 lead.
Emma Stebbeds registered her third goal of the season when she scored the third period's lone goal at 5:38.
Wicklund added an assist to her two goals for a three-point night. Zurawik had one goal and one assist for two points, while
Grace Wittkopf added two assists for two points.
Grendel Sprong fashioned a shutout between the pipes for St. Norbert, making 12 saves. Laura Melizza made 28 stops for the Raiders.
St. Norbert outshot MSOE 33-12. The Green Knights were 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Raiders were 0-for-5.
