DE PERE – St. Norbert College senior Courtnie Hogan (pictured) had a historic night for the Green Knights, setting a new school record with five goals in a single game and becoming the program's all-time leading scorer in a 7-0 thrashing over Milwaukee School of Engineering in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
Hogan not only set a new school record for the Green Knights, but also tied the record for most points in a single game with six. The last time a St. Norbert player had at least four goals in a game was Hogan, who scored four against Hamline University last season. She also set a record for goals in a period, scoring four in the second period.
Hogan had the lone goal in the first period, breaking away on a Raiders powerplay to score an unassisted shorthanded goal at 12:39. Jo Mahlum opened a big second period for the Green Knights, scoring off assists from Kelsey Ross and Natalie Hogan at 4:20.
The rest of the period would be all Hogan. Scoring not only a hattrick but four consecutive goals, she completed the feat in a period of less than 10 minutes. Her first two came unassisted, while her third came on a powerplay at 15:22. Her fourth came with less than a minute and half to play in the period, setting the school record. Her third, fourth and fifth goals came within the span of four minutes and 24 seconds.
Grace Witkopf would score a second shorthanded goal for the Green Knights in the third period, with Hogan providing an assist for her sixth point of the night at 17:48.
Claire Healy, Ava Anick, Allison Jacobsen and Tristan Wicklund all provided assists in the rout.
St. Norbert outshot the Raiders 43-14. Ashley Ommen recorded 14 saves in the shutout victory.
Jenna Kent made 15 stops for the Raiders, while Laura Melizza made 21 in relief.
The Green Knights went 1-for-3 on the power play, while MSOE went 0-for-4.
