DE PERE – St. Norbert College stormed to a ninth-straight win in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, picking up a 3-0 win over Concordia University Wisconsin at Ozaukee Ice Center.
The Green Knights (13-3, 9-0 NCHA) gained distance over the Falcons in the first period, scoring two goals less than 10 minutes apart.
Emma Stebbeds opened the scoring at 5:54 in the first, scoring off assists from Abby Pieper and Ava Anick. Natalie Hogan got the second at 13:08, converting on an assist from Kelsey Ross. The assist from Ross was her fourth since the winter break ended and marked a sixth straight game where she recorded an assist. Overall, the Green Knights outshot the Falcons 15-2 in the opening period.
Claire Healy (pictured) put the game out of the Falcons reach in the second quarter on a St. Norbert powerplay, scoring off a second assist from Anick and Tristan Wicklund at 9:55.
Anick was the lone multi-point scorer for the Green Knights with her two assists.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia Wisconsin 30-21. Keira Markell made 21 saves for her third shutout of the season. Kami McCardle made 27 stops for the Falcons.
The Green Knights went 1-for-5 on the powerplay, while Concordia Wisconsin went 0-for-4.
