Green Knights Can't Get Past Gustavus Adolphus

ST. PETER, Minn. - St. Norbert College wrapped up its pair of games in Minnesota on Sunday, falling 3-1 to a strong Gustavus Adolphus side.

The Gusties made Green Knights keeper Ryan Fleming make several early saves, including one just three minutes into the contest. There were multiple corners from the home side as well in the opening twenty minutes, as St. Norbert couldn't seem to get out of their defensive half.

Gustavus's Joe Flory had two of the first three shots on goal, and he would find the back of the net with his third shot of the game at 24:12.

Evan Baird got the Green Knights first shot on target in the second half, forcing Egan Bedwell to make a save.

After St. Norbert started as the stronger of the two sides in the second half, they would ultimately concede again after Alexander Krumenaur scored off a corner kick at 61:20.

The Green Knights would finally get on the board from a corner of their own, with Payton Schilz slotting home his first goal of the season at 70:23.

Gustavus Adolphus would eventually get a third goal to put the game out of reach with less than ten minutes remaining.

Things would get worse for St. Norbert as Joe Anguil was admonished his second yellow card of the game after the third goal, leaving the Green Knights to play down to ten men the rest of the way. Despite this, the Green Knights would not concede again.

St. Norbert was out shot 19-4 in a tough afternoon, with the only two shots on target coming in the second half. The Gusties would have 10 on target.
Fleming made seven saves in his outing, with six of them coming in the first half.

St. Norbert will return home for the second time this season on Wednesday, hosting the University of Dubuque at 6 p.m.
