RIVER FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College couldn't keep pace with Dominican University in a 5-2 loss in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at West Campus Field.
Dominican got on the board first when Grace Larson scored at 9:23.
Aleah Reesman then drew St. Norbert level when she scored at 24:01. Regan Coxon then gave the Stars a 2-1 lead with a goal at 27:19. Dominican would take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Coxon put Dominican up 3-1 when she converted a penalty kick at 51:03. St. Norbert drew back to within one goal when
Haley Leadingham scored unassisted at 56:15. But Dominican would salt the match away with goals from Larson at 73:34 and Natalia Lopez at 83:39.
St. Norbert outshot Dominican 16-15 and shots on goal 10-9. Reesman,
Abby Thompson and
Mackenzie Schneider all had two shots on goal apiece. Dominican had 10 corner kicks to the Green Knights' one.
Taylor Wilson made three saves in 83 minutes between the posts for St. Norbert, while
Lilly Collins made one stop in relief.
