DE PERE – St. Norbert College earned a 1-0 win over Marian University, scoring an early goal to put the Green Knights past the Sabres in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
Kevin Ramirez proved to be one of the main attacking threats once again, with all three of St. Norbert's shots coming from its leading goal scorer.
Substitute Joe Lewcock would prove to be the hero of the game, scoring his second goal of the season off a Joe Anguil assist. The blitz on goal would continue through the half, while on defense the Green Knights would not concede a single shot on goal.
St. Norbert would go down to ten men following a red card, meaning it would have to play nearly 40 minutes without its full strength.
The Sabres were in control for much of the second half with a man advantage but were unable to put away their chances. Ryan Fleming was only called upon once in the second half, but his save would prove to be vital as it was the only shot Marian would get on goal in the half.
The Green Knights had eight shots in the first half but would only have three in the second after the red card. St. Norbert also led in corner kicks, 6-2.
