PLYMOUTH – St. Norbert College got Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play off on the right foot with a 5-0 win over Lakeland University at Taylor Field.
The Green Knights had the run of play throughout the match, posting a 14-1 shots advantage, with 11 being on goal.
St. Norbert jumped ahead when
Kevin Ramirez headed in a goal at the 16:09 mark off a
Ben Janiszewski assist. Ramirez then added another marker at the 32:03 mark from a
Joe Meade helper for a 2-0 lead the Green Knights carried into halftime.
Meade stretched the lead to 3-0 when he scored early in the second half, posting a goal at 46:22 with
Evan Baird assisting. Ramirez the fashioned a hat trick when he scored at 54:36 off a
Payton Schilz assist. The Green Knights closed out the scoring when
Everett Saeger registered his first collegiate goal, finishing a header at 75:40 with
Ben Swicionis assisting.
Nate Jocz, who did not face a shot on goal, worked the first 76 minutes in goal to earn the win for the Green Knights.
Adan Martinez-Ponce finished up in the last 14 minutes and also did not see a shot on goal.
