St. Norbert Wraps Up Non-Conference Slate at Carthage

KENOSHA – St. Norbert College fell to Carthage College in the final non-conference game of the season, with the Firebirds scoring all three goals in the first half in a 3-0 loss for the Green Knights.

Jonathan Hill had the first chance of the game for St. Norbert at 8:30, with his shot to the bottom left being saved by Carthage keeper Evan Kowalski.

The Firebird offense would be deadly over the following 20 minutes in the first half, as they scored three goals in that time frame. Jethro Yumange scored a brace in 15 minutes, while Mickey Reilly added Carthage's third goal at 35:32.

Joe Meade had two attempts in the late stages of the half, but the Green Knights would go down to ten men just before the halftime whistle due to a red card for the second straight road game.

Nate Jocz and Adan Martinez-Ponce combined for three saves in the second half, as St. Norbert was able to keep the Firebirds from scoring in the second half.

The Green Knights and Firebirds had four looks on goal each in the first half, but with 10 shots coming from the home side in the second half, St. Norbert was outshot 14-4.

The Green Knights will begin conference play at Lakeland University next Wednesday and will return home at 1 p.m. next Saturday to take on Benedictine University.
