St. Norbert Turned Away at MSOE

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College fell in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Milwaukee School of Engineering by scores of 6-2 and 9-2 at MSOE Softball Field.

St. Norbert and MSOE were scoreless through three innings in the opener until the Green Knights broke through with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning. Zoe Zasada and Ava Engwall started the inning with back-to-back doubles. Christina Paleka then singled with one out to bring in pinch-runner Morgan Jarvi. The Raiders answered with five runs in the bottom of the fourth, getting five hits after two out and nobody on. MSOE added an insurance run in the sixth inning.

Paleka was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Addison Race was 2-for-3 with a double. Race took the complete-game loss, allowing 11 hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

In Game 2, MSOE took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but the Green Knights replied with two runs in the top of the second inning. Karleigh Linssen led off the frame with a solo home run and Morgan Hansel's two-out single later in the stanza plated Kathryn Bergin for a 2-1 lead. The Raiders would answer with three runs in the third inning and five more runs in the fourth inning to pull away.

The Green Knights had eight different players record a hit, with Linssen's home run the only one for extra bases. Cassie Schultz took the loss, allowing four runs in three innings pitched.
