DE PERE - St. Norbert College wrapped up home-court advantage in the first round of the upcoming Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament with a 9-0 win over Concordia University Chicago at Green Bay Tennis Center.
The Green Knights (9-11, 4-3 NACC), the tournament's No. 4 seeding, will host No. 5 Wisconsin Lutheran College in a first-round NACC Tournament match at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Green Bay Tennis Center.
St. Norbert got off to a hot start in doubles play.
Brian Coulter and
Jackson Harpt topped Collin Dickey and Nathan Stringer 8-2 at No. 1.
Anthony Michels and
David Vandenberg defeated Diego Leveshe and Joshua Gustafson 8-1 at No. 2, while
Josh Brown and
Owen McDonough teamed up to top Reynaldo Leal and Kevin Bullens 8-1 at No. 3.
Brett Daniels posted a 6-2, 6-2 win over Dickey at No. 1 singles. Harpt nearly blanked Stringer 6-0, 6-1 to win at No. 2, while Michels picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Leal at No. 3. Vandenberg doubled up Loveshe 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Coulter topped Gustavson 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5, while Brown outlasted Bullens 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5) at No. 6.
