KOHLER - St. Norbert College clinched a berth in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Tournament with a 9-0 win over Lakeland University at SportsCore.
The Green Knights (8-11, 3-3 NACC) are in the six-team field and can clinch home-court advantage in the tournament's first round with a win in the regular-season finale Sunday against Concordia University Chicago.
St. Norbert swept the three doubles matches in short order.
Seth Kogutkiewicz and
Brett Daniels topped Evan Vorpahl and Ben Busalacchi 8-1 at No. 1, while
Brian Coulter and
Jackson Harpt swept Noriyui Hatakenaka and Alessandro Bianchi 8-2 at No. 2.
Anthony Michels and
David Vandenberg blanked Andy Arreguin and Carson Galla at No. 3.
Harpt fashioned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Vorpahl at No. 1 singles, while Michaels blanked Hatakenaka 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Vandenberg picked up a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Busalacchi, with Coulter claiming a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Bianchi at No. 4.
Josh Brown tripped Robert Grimes 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5, while
Owen McDonough stopped Galla 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
