DE PERE - St. Norbert College faced off against Marian University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match and dropped a 3-0 decision at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights fell to the Sabres 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.
St. Norbert jumped out to a 7-3 lead in Set 1 before the Sabres rallied to take the lead at 12-11. The Green Knights trailed 15-13 before the Sabres slowly pulled away for the set win. St. Norbert held a small lead for a good deal of the second set with the final tie at 17-17. The Sabres took a trio of three-point leads, the last at 24-21. St. Norbert got to within 24-23 before Marian closed out the 2-0 lead. Marian never trailed in Set 3.
The Green Knights hit .168 as a team, with 38 kills against 20 errors in 107 attempts.
Kaden Kornaus had 11 kills, while
Kade Nelson had eight and
Owen Knezevich five.
Michael Whitney had 28 assists.
Jackson Corcoran had 11 digs, while
Ryan Conway had nine and Kornaus seven.
Marian hit .406 with 47 kills against six errors in 101 attempts. Derek Wills had a team-high 16 kills.
