RIVER FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College couldn't overcome a first-half deficit and saw a nine-game winning streak come to an end with a 71-64 setback to Dominican University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Igini Sports Forum.
The Green Knights (18-4, 13-2 NACC) trailed the Stars 18-15 with 11:35 left in the first half before the host went on an 8-0 run to take a 26-15 lead with 9:30 left. Dominican would eventually build a 32-19 lead with 4:05 left in the half before St. Norbert got to within 32-23 at halftime.
St. Norbert scored the first seven points of the second half to get to within 32-30 at the 16:08 mark on an
Alex Georgakas layup, but the Green Knights wouldn't score again until 11:26 remained after Dominican went on an 11-0 run. The Green Knights got to within five at 45-40 with 8:24 to go but would get no closer.
The Green Knights shot 44.6 percent (25-for-56) from the floor. Georgakas posted a career-high 19 points, while
Jamison Nickolai had 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Dominican shot 43.1 percent (22-for-51) from the floor. Daniel Nennig had a team-high 16 points and seven assists for the stars.
