DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened with heavy pressure and kept it up throughout the game as the Green Knights swamped Marian University 6-1 in the first game of a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup Playoffs series at Cornerstone Community Center.
The Green Knights (19-6) won their 45th consecutive game in the quarterfinal round of the NCHA Playoffs dating back to the 1995-96 season. St. Norbert, which needs a tie or win to advance to the semifinals, is 45-1-1 all-time in the NCHA quarterfinals. St. Norbert coach

St. Norbert had several high-quality scoring opportunities throughout the first period but finally broke through at 17:50 when
Carter Hottmann's backhander was good for a power-play goal. The Green Knights added another goal when
Curtis Hammond finished an odd-man rush by finding a wide-open net at 19:01.
The Green Knights kept the pressure on when
Brock Baker scored a power-play goal at 5:11 of the second period.
Logan Dombrowsky then finished off a slick passing combination involving linemates
Liam Fraser and
Adam Stacho for a 4-0 edge at 8:30.
St. Norbert's power play continued to hum when
T.J. Koufis scored at 11:00 of the third period. Dombrowsky then scored again at 15:28. Marian's Blake Kleiner got a late consolation goal at 16:16.
Fraser had three assists for a three-point game. Baker and Koufis each had one goal and one assist for two points, while Dombrowsky had two goals for two points and Stacho had two assists for two points.
St. Norbert outshot Marian 38-12.
Hunter Garvey made 11 saves for the Green Knights, while Aaron Brunn had 32 stops for the Sabres.
St. Norbert was 3-for-3 on the power play, moving to 9-for-11 in its last two games. Marian was 0-for-2.
