St. Norbert Rips Dubuque In Regular-Season Finale

DUBUQUE, Iowa - St. Norbert College posted its largest goal total in nine years with an 11-1 win over the University of Dubuque in its regular-season finale in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at ImOn Arena.

The Green Knights (18-6, 15-3 NCHA) last scored at least 11 goals in a game when it topped Finlandia University 12-0 on Nov. 8, 2014. St. Norbert pumped in six power-play goals, the fourth time it has scored at least that many in a game. The Green Knights last had at least six when they scored seven power-play goals against Finlandia on Feb. 16, 2019.

The victory was also the 655th in head coach Tim Coghlin's career, tying him with Jeff Sauer (Colorado College, Wisconsin) for 10th place on the all-time NCAA wins list in all divisions.

St. Norbert took control in the second half of the first period to take a 3-0 lead. Byron Hartley scored at 12:34, followed by an Adam Stacho power-play goal at 16:43. Mark Snarr added a marker at 17:17 for a 3-0 lead.

Dubuque would score at 3:31 of the second period to cut its deficit to 3-1, but the Green Knights responded quickly when Stacho scored 43 seconds later for his 16th goal of the season. Logan Dombrowsky scored for the 10th time this season with a power-play goal at 7:05 for a 5-1 lead that carried into second intermission.

St. Norbert erupted for six third-period goals, including four on the power play. Liam Fraser scored his 16th goal of the season at 3:04 of the third period. The Green Knights then scored a pair of goals on a major power play, with Cameron Morris scoring at 8:21 and T.J. Koufis at 9:16. Hartley then scored a power-play goal at 10:27 for a 9-1 lead. Koufis posted his 11th goal of the season with another power-play goal at 17:11. Hartley then tallied a hat trick when he scored his fifth goal of the season at 19:10.

Fraser scored one goal and four assists for a five-point game. Hartley had three goals, Stacho two goals and one assist and Snarr one goal and two assists for three-point games. Michael Black and Jordan Strand each had three assists for three points. Koufis had two goals for two points, while Adam Szubert had two assists for two points.

St. Norbert outshot Dubuque 43-26. Hunter Garvey made 25 saves for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert was 6-for-8 on the power play, while Dubuque was 0-for-3.
