Hogan a Hero With Overtime Game-Winner

DE PERE - St. Norbert College got an overtime game-winning goal from senior forward Courtnie Hogan to lift the Green Knights to a 3-2 win over UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

Hogan beat Stevens Point goaltender Emily Griege through the five hole just 43 seconds into the overtime session, converting a 4-on-3 power-play goal for the game-winning score.

St. Norbert (11-2) found itself down early when Stevens Point's Courtney Leising scored just 13 seconds into the game for a quick 1-0 deficit. The Green Knights would tie things up midway through the first period when Jo Mahlum connected on her third goal of the season, scoring at 10:09.

The Green Knights took a 2-1 lead when Tristan Wicklund's tipped redirection was good for a power-play goal at 16:21 of the second period.

The Pointers (7-5-1) tied things up at 7:43 of the third period on a Molly Pohlkamp goal. St. Norbert applied heavy pressure the rest of the period, outshooting Stevens Point 26-5 in the final 20 minutes. The Green Knights were turned away with several "Grade A" saves by Griege down the stretch of regulation time.

Hogan had the Green Knights' lone multi-point game, scoring one goal and one assist for two points.

St. Norbert outshot Stevens Point 56-17. Ashley Ommen made 15 saves for the Green Knights, while Griege made 53 stops for the Pointers.

St. Norbert was 2-for-4 on the power play, while Stevens Point was 0-for-1.
