DE PERE – St. Norbert College fell to defeat to UW-Stevens Point 64-46 in a non-conference game at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.
The Green Knights (6-2) held the Pointers at bay in the first half but fell behind after a large Stevens Point run in the third quarter.
After falling behind 6-0 to open the first quarter, Rose Hahn (pictured) and Emma Morrisey hit two back-to-back three pointers to tie the game after four minutes. Another three from Hahn gave the Green Knights their first lead of the game, but with a 7-2 run to end the second half from the Pointers, the visitors held a five-point lead after ten minutes.
The Green Knights held the Pointers to just 15.38 percent in the second quarter but could only find six points themselves going into halftime.
Stevens Point went on a 12-4 run to open the second half and would take its biggest lead of the day with a 13-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Green Knights were able to cut the lead to 11 but could not bring themselves any closer to the lead.
St. Norbert shot 35.6 percent (16-for-45) from the floor. The Green Knights were slightly outrebounded by the Pointers, 34-32. Taylor Thiry led the Green Knights with 13 points, while Hahn had eight. Morrisey and Kalina Winslow both had seven points.
Stevens Point shot 41.8 percent (23-for-55) from the field. Alexa Thompson led the Pointers with 17 points.
