DE PERE - St. Norbert College got back in the win column as it topped Concordia University Chicago 4-2 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (3-6-3, 3-2-1 NACC) jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and eventually led by three early in the second half.
St. Norbert moved into the lead when
Payton Schilz finished off a
John OConnor assist at the 18:20 mark. The Green Knights doubled their lead when
Jonathan Hill scored at 39:17 off an
Everett Saeger helper.
The Green Knights added to their lead when
Joe Meade scored at 50:32, with
Ben Janiszewski, for a short-lived 3-0 advantage. Concordia got a goal back at 52:38 when Spencer Nicholson scored on a penalty kick.
Joe Lewcock responded with his fourth goal of the season, scoring off assists from
Dominic Lagona and
Kevin Ramirez, at 59:43. The Cougars added a consolation goal at 79:04 from Ronaldo Joseph.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia 18-11, including 11-4 in the first half. Meade had four shots, while Schilz had three. Both had two shots on goal.
The Cougars held a 9-6 edge in corner kicks and a 10-9 nod in fouls.
Nate Jocz worked the first 86 minutes between the posts for the Green Knights, making three saves. Aden Martinez-Ponce worked the last four minutes in relief.
