MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College got contributions from its entire roster as the Green Knights romped to a 3-0 win over Alverno College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Reiman Gymnasium.
The Green Knights, who had 19 players see action, doused the Inferno 25-9, 25-12, 25-13.
St. Norbert built a lead throughout Set 1, turning a 10-5 lead into a 17-8 advantage. After an Alverno point, the Green Knights scored eight straight points to close out the 1-0 lead. The Green Knights and Inferno were tied 4-4 and then led 8-6. After a 13-8 lead, the Green Knights went on a 5-0 run to take control en route to a 2-0 edge. St. Norbert never trailed in the third set.
The Green Knights hit a robust .474, registering 43 kills against six errors in 78 attempts. Alyssa Mils turned in a 10-kill night on just 13 attempts against no errors.
Alli Clark had eight kills, while
Maleigha Kovalaske had seven kills.
Heidi Colburn had 31 assists and six service aces.
Lauren Borchardt finished with six digs, while Kovalaske added five.
Maddie Kitowski,
Kara Sowinski and
Claire Leynse had four digs apiece. Mills, Kovalaske and
Mari Szews each registered a solo block.
Alverno hit .077, with 18 kills and 13 errors in 65 attempts. Rolin West had 11 kills to lead the Inferno.
