GLENDALE - St. Norbert College put the finishing touches on the fall schedule of its 2024-25 women's tennis season with a 4-3 setback to Milwaukee School of Engineering in a hard-fought Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference dual at Nicolet High School.
The Green Knights (7-3, 7-2) finished in third place in the NACC standings and will be the No. 3 seeding in next spring's NACC Tournament.
St. Norbert battled to win the doubles point, taking two of three matches.
Anna Vechart and
Mayghan Bongle topped Delaney Premeau and Stephania Gonzalez by a 6-4 score at No. 2.
Jordan Domnick and Alyssa Teven then defeated Brenna Sheehan and Michaela Haensgen in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-2).
The Green Knights won at the top two singles flights. Domnick beat Karley Way 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, while Allison Unverzgt outlasted Gonzalez 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2.
The match came down to the No. 3 singles match, with MSOE's Gabrielle Haensgen holding on in three sets to clip
Grace Peters 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 6-4.
