EAU CLAIRE - St. Norbert College had to settle for a non-conference series split with UW-Eau Claire, falling 3-1 in the second game at Hobbs Ice Center.
The Green Knights (11-4) topped the No. 10-ranked Blugolds (11-4) by a 5-1 score in the series opener on Friday.
Eau Claire took the lead when Eden Gruber scored at 15:30 of the first period. That goal would hold up until 12:44 of the second period, when the Blugolds' Sam Bandholz scored. St. Norbert would get a goal back at 17:43 when Mogran Olson scored off a
Courtnie Hogan assist.
The Blugolds would hold the one-goal lead until getting an empty-et goal by Sophie Rausch at 18:42 of the third period.
Eau Claire outshot St. Norbert 47-18.
Brynn Waisman made 44 stops for the Green Knights, while Alexa Backmann made 17 saves for the Blugolds.
St. Norbert was 0-for-1 on the power play, while Eau Claire was 0-for-3.
