DE PERE - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the month of January by outlasting Aurora University 70-60 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights (17-3, 12-1 NACC) are now 8-0 in January and also have an eight-game winning streak. St. Norbert continues to hold a one-game lead on Wisconsin Lutheran College in the NACC race with five games remaining.

Aurora opened the game with a pair of 3-pointers by Joevonn McCottry but the Green Knights were able to build a 17-6 lead by making seven of their first eight field-goal attempts as well as a pair of free throws. Evan Glaser had six points during the stretch, while Aidan Harrington's 3-pointer snapped a 6-6 tie. Jamison Nickolai had four points during the spurt. Garrett Grzesk hit a 3-pointer with 6:48 left in the half for a 22-10 lead and Nickolai followed with a triple of his own for a 25-12 edge at the 6:10 mark.

The Spartans would go on a 12-2 run over the next 4:24 to get back into the game, trailing just 27-24 with 1:46 to go. Connor Pytleski hit a couple of 3-pointers late in the half to allow St. Norbert to bring a 33-27 lead into halftime.

Aurora got to within two points twice early in the second half, the latter at 39-37 with 15:34 to go. Glaser's jumper in the paint and a fast-break 3-pointer by Harrington gave St. Norbert some breathing room at 44-37 with 14:42 to go. The St. Norbert lead remained in single digits and Aurora got it back to one possession at 56-53 with 7:21 to go. The Green Knights responded with a decisive 7-0 run, with Glaser scoring in the paint, Carter Gebler hitting a stepback 3 and Harrington a tough jumper in the paint for a 63-53 edge with 4:30 to go.
