DE PERE - St. Norbert College was outshot by Concordia University Wisconsin 27-17 but cashed in its opportunities at the pay window, posting a 4-1 win in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (14-4-1, 9-0-1 NCHA) got on the board early when
Lexi Bonfe posted her tenth goal of the season with a wraparound try at the 5:58 mark of the first period, the only goal in the first 20 minutes.
St. Norbert killed off a penalty that spanned the end of the first and start of the second periods, and scored moments after it expired when
Allison Jacobsen had a nice finish for her first goal of the season at the 1:20 mark. The Green Knights added to their lead when
Jo Mahlum scored a power-play goal at 4:37 of the second period. St. Norbert carried the 3-0 lead into second intermission after scoring on its only two shots on goal in the second period.
Concordia got a goal back at 7:59 of the third period when Makayla Spejcher snapped a wrister into the net, but the Green Knights sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 18:25 by
Courtnie Hogan, her 11th of the season.
Natalie Hogan had three assists for a three-point game, while Bonfe, Mahlum and
Courtnie Hogan each had assists along with their goals to finish with two-point games.
Brynn Waisman made 26 saves for St. Norbert, while Annalina Van Hercke had 13 stops for Concordia.
St. Norbert was 1-for-1 on the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-2.
