MEQUON - St. Norbert College fashioned a 3-2 overtime win over Concordia University Wisconsin thanks to
Grace Wittkopf's goal in the final minute of overtime in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Ozaukee Ice Center.
The Green Knights peppered Concordia goaltender Annalina Van Hercke with nine shots in the overtime session, with the final one going in with 46 seconds remaining. Wittkopf scored off assists from
Erin Huerta and
Gabby Holtz.
Abbie Tollefson gave St. Norbert a one-goal lead when she scored at 18:42 of the first period. That goal would hold up all the way through second intermission. Concordia would tie the game at 8:32 of the third period when Amanda Bauer scored unassisted. St. Norbert wrested the lead back at 10:57 when
Lexi Bonfe registered her ninth goal of the season. The Falcons again responded when Ashlyn Marshall scored at 17:43 of the third period with a marker that would force overtime.
Huerta finished with two assists for the Green Knights' lone multi-point game.
Shots were even at 34 apiece.
Brynn Waisman made 32 saves for St. Norbert, with Van Hercke turning away 31 shots for the Falcons.
St. Norbert was 0-for-1 on the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-4.
