DE PERE - St. Norbert College had a solid offensive performance as the Green Knights rolled to an 84-52 win over Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights (14-3, 9-1 NACC) shot a lusty 60.4 percent from the floor, canning 32 of 53 field-goal attempts. St. Norbert, which was shooting 70 percent from the floor midway through the second half, was also 12-for-24 from beyond the three-point arc.
Both teams had no problem scoring in the early going, with Concordia holding an 11-10 lead with just over 4 1/2 minutes elapsed. The Green Knights then went on a 13-0 run to take control, which included 3-pointers from
Connor Pytleski and
Aidan Harrington and a conventional three-point play from
Carter Gebler for a 23-11 lead with 10:41 left in the half. St. Norbert led 34-18 with 6:27 left in the half, but the Green Knights then went on 13-3 run over the next 4:57 to see the lead rupture into a 47-21 advantage. The Green Knights, who were 20-for-30 (66.7 percent) from the floor in the first half, settled on a 49-23 edge at halftime.
St. Norbert maintained control throughout the second half, taking a 59-32 lead with 15:55 left to a 78-36 spread after a 19-4 run with 8:41 to go following a Pytleski 3-pointer.
A total of 13 different players scored for St. Norbert.
Jamison Nickolai finished with a team-high 16 points, while
Kyle Krueger added 14 points off the bench. Harrington chipped in with 11 points. The Green Knights had a 37-22 rebounding advantage.
Concordia shot 38.5 percent (20-for-52) from the floor, 4-for-18 (22.2 percent) from beyond the three-point arc and 8-for-19 (42.1 percent) at the free-throw line. Gabe Pruss led the Falcons with 11 points, while Freeman Jackson added 10 points.
