CHICAGO - St. Norbert College faced its second nationally ranked foe in six days and came up a bit short in a 1-0 loss to No. 22-ranked North Park University in a hard-fought non-conference match at Holmgren Field.
The two teams battled in a scoreless match until the Vikings' William de Carro finished a 25-yard strike to the upper left at the 71:11 mark.
St. Norbert had its best scoring chance in the 31st minute when a shot by
Joe Meade hit the crossbar. Meade and
Tyler Bonin had two shots apiece to lead the Green Knights offensively.
North Park outshot St. Norbert 16-7 and also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks and an 18-10 nod in fouls.
Nate Jocz made six saves for St. Norbert, while Alfred Sward made one stop for the Vikings.
