DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't hang on to a halftime lead and ultimately dropped a 3-1 outcome to Dominican University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights took a 1-0 lead when
Matthew Wright's header off an
Anthony Elert corner kick found the cage at the 25:32 mark. That goal would hold up for the rest of the first half for a 1-0 halftime edge.
Dominican quickly responded in the second half, getting the equalizer at 48:04 when Vicente Castro scored for the Stars. Dominican doubled its lead when Oleksandr Melnyk scored at 62:45. St. Norbert then had a red card in the 66th minute to go a man down, but despite being shorthanded the Green Knights had a couple of quality scoring chances miss the goal. Dominican then sealed the win with a goal by Ivan Guerrero at 83:39.
St. Norbert outshot Dominican 10-6, with Wright,
John OConnor and
Tyler Bonin each getting two shots. The Stars had a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
