FOND DU LAC - St. Norbert College scored early in the second half and eventually pulled away in a 3-1 win over Marian University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Smith Field.
Following a scoreless first half, St. Norbert got on the scoreboard when
Kevin Ramirez's free kick was true at the 49:34 mark for his first goal of the season. That goal would hold up until
Tyler Bonin doubled the Green Knights' lead when he finished a breakaway at 62:08, his third goal of the year.
Marian would make it interesting when Drew Coden scored at 76:49, but the Green Knights would salt the game awy when
Joe Meade finished off a rebound from a Bonin shot at 88:58. It was Meade's team-leading seventh goal of the season.
St. Norbert outshot Marian 31-11 and held a 12-5 edge in corner kicks.
Nate Jocz made two saves for the Green Knights, while Aden Jerome made 13 stops for the Sabres.
Bonin had seven shots to lead St. Norbert, while
John OConnor added six.
