DE PERE - St. Norbert College got off to a good start in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with a 1-0 win over Lakeland University at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights and Muskies battled to a scoreless first half, with each team getting off four shots.
St. Norbert broke through in the 55th minute, with
Dominic Lagona took a pass from
Matthew Wright up the right side and fired a shot into the top left of the goal at 54:02. That marker would hold up the rest of the way behind the Green Knights' second shutout of the season.
Nate Jocz made three saves to lead the way in goal for the Green Knights, while Zach Heiman made four stops for Muskies.
St. Norbert outshot Lakeland 14-8 and had a 12-2 edge in corner kicks.
Joe Meade had four shots to lead St. Norbert, while
Stjepan Peharda had three.
