DE PERE - St. Norbert College struggled to slow down Carthage College as the Green Knights dropped a 3-0 decision to the Firebirds in a non-conference match at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights fell to Carthage 25-17, 25-19, 26-24.
St. Norbert led 5-2 in Set 1 before Carthage slowly worked its way back into the set, eventually taking a 12-11 lead. The Firebirds would eventually lead 19-12 and 21-13 in the set. Set 2 was tied 13-13 before Carthage went on a 7-2 run to take control. The Green Knights had a solid Set 3, eventually building a 19-12 lead. St. Norbert still led 23-18 before Carthage went on an 8-1 run to take the set and match.
The Green Knights hit .181, with 37 kills and 18 errors in 105 attempts.
Rylie Gregg had 15 kills against two errors in 25 attempts for an individual percentage of .520.
Brooke Clement added eight kills and
Alli Clark three.
Heidi Colburn had 23 assists.
Erin Eggers finished with nine digs, while Clement had eight. Clark had two blocks.
Carthage hit .299, with 44 kills and 15 errors in 97 attempts. Liv Carel had a team-high 13 kills for the Firebirds.
